Dia de vuelta

Today was the day we returned to Logroño; the morning started very early since we had to travel to Dublin, which is four hours away. On the bus ride to the airport, we played English songs, and some of us started to cry because we were so sad to leave. Upon arriving at the airport, we said goodbye to the Irish group—we were all in tears; it was a truly beautiful and moving experience. This adventure has been a learning opportunity for me—not just regarding English, but also customs and culture—and I’ve made new friends. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, and I can’t wait for April when everyone comes to Spain.

Today we went on a field trip to Cork; we traveled by bus since it’s an hour and a half away. Upon arrival, we visited the university and spent some time with a guide who explained everything to us—I loved it all, and the place was beautiful. After the tour, we visited the university shop, though I didn't buy anything. Next, we walked to the city center, where we had free time to eat and browse the shops; I had a meal at a very famous burger restaurant and bought souvenirs for my family. What I enjoyed most was trying the apple pie. When we got back to Kilfinane, we went to JJ's house, and later on, we headed home to sleep .

Noche cultural instituto

Today was a normal day at school; we had our usual classes, and everything went great. I was really struck by the good rapport between the teachers and students, especially since the teachers are all quite young. After school, Jack told me it was the night of the "Cultural Night" event and that I could stay at the pitch with my friends, since he was going to JJ's house. A little later, his mom came to pick me up because it was time for dinner. We all ate together, and then a friend of Jack's came to drive us to the school for the event. Jack had told me there would be dancing, instrumental performances, and singing. What I liked best was the "broom dance" that Jack and others performed; I was told it’s a very traditional dance. Later, at the end of the evening, we were invited to dance, and it was super fun. There were cakes to eat at the end. Shortly after, we headed home, and that was the end of the day.

Sabado dia cine

Today, Saturday the 19th, I woke up a bit later than usual since I had to go to Grace’s house at eleven; Jack was playing the guitar at a church event. I really liked Grace’s house—the homes here are quite different from those in Spain, and I love that almost everyone has pets. After spending some time at Grace’s, we took the bus to Limerick with some other Erasmus students to see a horror movie. We did a bit of sightseeing in Limerick, grabbed a bite to eat, and then headed to the cinema. The movie was really scary, but I enjoyed it; the cinema was nicely decorated, though it was much smaller than the ones in Spain. After the movie, we had plenty of time before our bus was due, so we went to the shopping mall to get a snack and browse the shops. Then we caught the bus back, and as soon as I arrived, I went home and chatted with Jack about the day. He mentioned he was going to a friend's house and asked if I wanted to come along, but I was exhausted, so I preferred to stay in, re...

Viernes noche cultural

It’s Friday, and I had to wake up early for class; my two favorite subjects today were Musical Theatre and Biology. In Musical Theatre, I danced to a song from *Mamma Mia* with my friends—we all take that class together—and in Biology, we went to the computer lab since the science lab is being renovated. After school, we all went to the soccer field, and later we ordered Chinese food for dinner. After dinner, we had a cultural night, which was a blast; there were traditional dances, people singing, and others playing instruments—even Jack got up to dance. My favorite part was when we Spaniards got excited and went up to sing a song in Spanish. There were also some traditional snacks served between performances, which I really enjoyed. When the cultural night ended, I went home, and I was so tired that I fell right asleep.

Jueves dia de surf

We had a surfing excursion today, too. I woke up at my usual time since I had to go to the school where the bus was departing from. On the way there, we all thought we wouldn't actually go through with it because it was cold and raining, and the idea of getting into the sea didn't appeal to us. However, when we arrived, we had a bite to eat and then put on our wetsuits. Afterward, we grabbed our boards and headed outside for a quick lesson. Then we got into the water to surf, with the instructors helping us the whole time; I had a great time, and thanks to the wetsuit, I hardly felt the cold. I’m really glad I did it, as I had been having second thoughts because of the weather. After surfing, we had lunch and went to see some cliffs, where we took lots of photos and spent a good while enjoying the scenery. When we got back to Kilfinane, we went to a friend of Jack’s house and hung out there until it was time to go have dinner and then head to bed.

Today, Wednesday the 16th, we went on a really cool trip to "The Ploughing"—a famous Irish festival featuring tractors and animals. We started the day very early because we had to take two buses and a train to get to the festival site. As soon as we arrived, I was amazed by how huge it was and how many people were there; there were also tons of food stalls and shops, and I bought a Limerick sweatshirt. Later, we spent some time at the fairground, though we didn't go on any rides since a single turn cost eight euros—too expensive for us—so we preferred to spend our money on souvenirs and food. When it was time to leave, we took a double-decker bus; I’d never ridden on one before and really enjoyed it. It dropped us off at the station where we had to catch two trains—one right after the other—so quickly that we almost missed the second one. After getting off the train, we realized we had missed our connecting bus, but a bus driver kindly offered to drive us to Kilfinane. ...
